It all started as a simple idea in 2014.  Theresa Hummel-Krallinger was a new member at the Pyramid Club and was looking for a way to give back and make a difference.  Theresa approached the Member Relations Director, DebraLynn Ambrose, with an idea for a discussion group where we would invite a different local author each month.  DebraLynn agreed to partner with Theresa on the planning.  Our first program was in September of 2014 with guest author Franne McNeal.  We have hosted at least one guest author every month since then.

Where we are now ...

We have hosted over 175 guest authors on panels and as solo presenters.  Each month the events are advertised to over 5,000 people.  Participants include members of the Pyramid Club, their guests, and business people and book lovers from Philly, the Philly suburbs, South Jersey, and Delaware.

​We are in our 10th year of Meet the Author. Guest authors are booked up to six months in advance, with a long waiting list of potential guest authors.  In 2020, we moved the program to Zoom & Facebook Live.  As of 2024 we do a combination of Zoom/Facebook Live programs and in-person events at the Pyramid Club. 
​We are proud to have been recognized in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 as one of the top ten Business Networking Associations by the Philadelphia Business Journal!  We are #4 in 2023!
